Pyrates! Started as a once a month drinking session in pirate gear way back in 2003, organised by Captain Gallows in various pubs about the town, and of course with any group of pirates drinking, singing is sure to ensue eventually.....
...Fast forward to the South West Pirate Festival 2006, while attending this
festival we were asked "What do you do?" - This led Captain Gallows to decide that the world really needed the Pyrate band, an idea he'd been toying with for quite some time at this point...He assembled his crew and started rehersing at once.
Pyrates! are a band of accomplished musicians who perform a wide range of folk songs, sea shanties, drinking songs, pirate theme songs, irish Songs, and much more.
Our flexible approach to music lets us perform in nearly any kind of venue, we've played Pubs, clubs, quaysides, town squares, small scale battles, private parties, stag dos', hen nights, jam sessions - and to any kind of pirate friendly audience - our sets can be themed for adults and children alike!
Prices range from "Alms for the poor?" to "Gimme all yer booty!" depending on the gig!
